May 17-20, 2019: Deepening your Relationship to Self, Other and Community - A Residential Retreat

You’re invited to join Surati Haarbrucker and Kathy White, Certified Facilitators of The Work, at Vancouver Island’s OUR Ecovillage for a 3.5 day residential retreat starting Friday, May 17th at 7pm and ending Monday, 20th at 4pm.

“Human interaction can be a great spiritual practice…or it can be hell. When you receive whoever comes into your life at this moment as a noble guest, when you allow each person to be who they are, they begin to change. You may meet yourself and them for the first time...”    ~Byron Katie~

Your relationships are a mirror. A playground where you can learn to be vulnerable, honest and responsible; free from grudges and resentments. We offer you concrete tools to expand the possibilities in all your relationships.

Whether its your relationship with yourself, your family, your neighbours or your community, you can use those relationships to grow, develop and learn.  Be free no matter who you are relating to.

You will use The Work of Byron Katie (Inquiry) to look into your relationships and question the stressful stories you are holding on to. We will guide you in Mindfulness Meditations and Inquiry to bring to the surface those beliefs that contribute to creating “hell” in your relationships.

With an open mind, you may discover how you compromise your own happiness and freedom in the pursuit of pleasing others. What stories stop you from living honestly and in your own integrity?

As facilitators, we use our skills to support you in learning practical and powerful tools that will benefit you for the rest of your life. Stretch and grow beyond limiting beliefs, and enhance your ability to lead a deeply fulfilling life, here and now.

Kathy White is a Certified Facilitator of The Work and has been using The Work in her personal and professional life for over 19 years.  She teaches Yoga and works as an Art Psychotherapist and Business Coach.  She recently moved to Vancouver Island from Findhorn, Scotland.

March 28, 2019, 7:00pm-9:00pm: Introduction to The Work of Byron Katie - Vancouver

This evening will provide an introduction to The Work of Byron Katie, and is an opportunity to learn more about courses and events.

This event is for people interested in learning a powerful and transformative practice in an engaging evening of inquiry.  Anyone who struggles with their stressful thoughts in depression, addiction, anxiety, relationship conflicts, illness, loss, etc., will benefit from this practice.

The Work, founded by Byron Katie, is a way to identify and question the thoughts that cause all the stress and suffering in our lives.  When we guide people through inquiry, they find that their stressful beliefs—about life, other people, or themselves—radically shift and their lives are changed forever. The Work is an astonishingly simple process, accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds, and requires nothing more than a pen, paper, and an open mind. Through this process, anyone can learn to trace unhappiness to its source and deal with it there. In its most basic form, The Work consists of four questions and the turnarounds.

People who do The Work as an ongoing practice commonly report alleviation of depression; decreased stress living with less anxiety/fear; improved relationships; reduced anger and less reactivity; increased mental clarity; more energy, well-being; and more peace.

Location: Kitsilano, Vancouver, address provided with registration

Saturday, March 2, 2019: Mindful Inquiry - A Day in The Work of Byron Katie

“What we are doing with inquiry is meeting our thoughts with some simple understanding, finally. Pain, anger, and frustration will let us know when it’s time to inquire. We either believe what we think or we question it: there’s no other choice. Questioning our thoughts is the kinder way. Inquiry always leaves us as more loving human beings.” ― Byron Katie, I Need Your Love – Is That True?

You’re invited to join Surati Haarbrucker and Kathy White, Certified Facilitators of The Work, at Vancouver Island’s OUR Ecovillage for one day of mindful inquiry. 10:00am to 5:00pm

You will learn to identify and question the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck, lower your confidence, create conflict with others and leave you feeling at odds with the world. Using this simple yet radical process, you can set yourself free to live an inspired and peaceful life.

You will spend time practicing inquiry using The Work, deepening into mindfulness meditation. By investigating the stories you have been telling yourself about life as you open up a space for your own realizations and wake up to a kinder reality and a clearer mind.

This workshop is an opportunity to practice The Work with the freedom of “beginner’s mind,” no matter what your level of experience is.

(Prerequisite: Please read “The little book” available as free download at http://thework.com/sites/thework/downloads/little_book/English_LB.pdf)

Introduction to The Work - Invite me to your community

Other than what you are thinking and believing, are you okay? ~ Byron Katie

When we believe our stressful thoughts, we suffer; when we question these thoughts, we can find peace and set ourselves free to experience life fully.

Invite me to your community for an introduction to this powerful process and a chance to stretch your mind.  Discover what becomes available when we take our "internal blinders" off with curiosity and are willing to go into an intimate dialogue with ourselves.

Our meetings live in our soulful sharing, insights and willingness to open and go beyond the known... There is much we can learn from each other. Looking forward to sitting with you.

Please contact me to set up an event.
